Terms of Use
By using Alex you agree to these terms. They're written in plain English. We try to be reasonable; please do the same.
Who provides Alex
Alex is operated by PanaceAI (a sole-trader business in New South Wales, Australia). Reach us at hello@panaceai.com.au.
Eligibility
You must be 18 or older to create an Alex account. You may only record information about a child you are the parent or legal guardian of. Do not create accounts on behalf of someone else.
Your account
You sign in with an email magic link or with Google. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account. Treat your sign-in link as you would a password.
You can invite other people (the “Circle” tab) to share your baby's record. Anyone you invite can see, add, edit and delete events for that baby. Choose carefully.
What you can do with Alex
You can use Alex to:
- Record information about your own child (feeds, sleeps, nappies, growth, milestones, immunisations and so on).
- Share that record with family members you invite.
- Receive a weekly summary by email.
- Export or delete your data at any time.
What you can't do
- Use Alex to record data about a child who is not yours without their parent's consent.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to attack the service.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercialise Alex's output.
- Use Alex in any way that violates Australian law.
Subscription billing
A premium subscription unlocks longer windows of Insights (30 and 90 days) and the brushable timeline. Pricing is shown at the time of purchase. Payments are processed by Stripe under their terms.
Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled. You can cancel any time from the Stripe portal accessible via /me. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period — no refunds for unused time in the current period unless required by Australian Consumer Law.
Not medical advice
Alex is a record-keeping tool. It is not a medical device, not a clinical decision support system, not a diagnostic aid, and not a substitute for professional healthcare advice.
Reference data shown in Alex (WHO growth standards, CDC milestone windows, AU NIP immunisation schedule, FSANZ allergen list, AAPD tooth eruption windows) is shown as descriptive reference only. Wide individual variation is normal. Any concern about your child's health is for you and your healthcare team to address, not for Alex.
The Sunday Briefing narrative is generated by Anthropic's Claude from your structured event data and is descriptive only. It does not interpret, diagnose, or recommend.
Intellectual property
You own the data you put into Alex. We own the software, design, copy, and the aggregated reference databases curated for Alex. You grant us a limited licence to host your data on our infrastructure so we can show it back to you.
Service availability
Alex is offered “as is”. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change, add, or remove features. We will give reasonable notice for changes that materially reduce your ability to use the service.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of Alex is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or AUD $50 if you are a free user). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time from the Danger Zone of /me. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. On termination, your data is soft-deleted and permanently purged after 30 days unless you ask us to restore it within that window.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute is to be resolved in the courts of NSW.
Changes
We will post material changes to this page and bump the version. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance.
